Academy of Country Music Awards

Watching the ACM’s tonight. Love me some Luke Bryan! Did Kenny Chesney’s song sound terrible or is it just me? I LOVE Kenny but something was off about his performance. Chris Young & Cassadee Pope sounds amazing together. Not a fan of the first song Eric Church performed but I do love most of his music. I love Cam’s song Burning House. Hello, Cole Swindell!! Brett Eldredge – yes please! Miranda Lambert looks amazing – show Blake what he lost!! I’m surprised they let Sam Hunt perform a song that’s not really country. Thomas Rhett sang “Die A Happy Man.” Miranda Lambert & Keith Urban performed with ZZ Top. What a dumb outfit for Katy Perry to wear. Country Wannabe – you aren’t even doing it right. Why they picked her to sing with a legend like Dolly is beyond me. Not cute! Florida Georgia Line always do a good performance. Overall, I wasn’t very impressed this year.

Unstuffed by Ruth Soukup

As many of you know, I enjoy helping promote books. I love doing launch teams – not only for the perk of getting an advanced copy of the book but also to share great reads to my family, friends and followers. I had the pleasure of being a part of Ruth Soukup’s launch team for her upcoming book Unstuffed: Decluttering Your Home, Mind & Soul. I have read many home organization books but to be honest, they are usually hard to read and more of a checklist instead of digging deeper into the real issues.

This book has three sections – Home, Mind and Soul. In the Home section, Ruth really relates to her readers. Explaining how we feel obligated because of gifts and overwhelmed with too much stuff. She gives lots of tips for cleaning – my favorite was “…focus on only one area”- best advice ever. She goes on to explain that no matter how much or how little you do, everything is an accomplishment.

This perfectly sums up the Mind section of Ruth’s book:

I couldn’t have said it better myself and I constantly need a reminder to live a meaningful life instead of filling my time with unimportant tasks. Soul is the third part of her book, which touches on friendships, wellness and balance – each an important part of every person.

This book is a quick read but I highly recommend taking your time and marking pages for reference. In addition to the amazing writing, Ruth offers worksheets, checklists and other information for decluttering your life. She will also be offering a DVD study to go along with the book. I can’t wait to check it out.
